Inspiration
A Fannie Mae employee educated me on the mission of the Fannie Mae company and told me about the Technica challenge they were holding. So, I decided to participate in it because I saw it being possible with Java.
What it does
My code calculates the LTV, DTI, and FEDTI percentages when the user inputs their prospective home price, down payment, their current monthly gross income, monthly car payment, monthly credit card payment, monthly mortgage, and other monthly expenses. Then, it tells the user whether their percentages qualify for home ownership or not. It also takes in a user input of their credit rating and tells them if it qualifies for home ownership or not.
How we built it
I used the Java language and coded on the Replit website.
Challenges we ran into
Syntax errors!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The code works and calculates all percentages correctly.
What we learned
I learned what it takes to get approved for a loan when trying to become a homeowner.
