Inspiration

The rise of K-Pop Idol Groups paved the way for Filipino Pop Idol Groups to also flourish. In the Pop Idol scene, more often than not, starting Pop Idol groups from different managing companies usually die out due to the lack of funding. On the other hand, even for starting idols, Idol groups still have fanbases, and each idol members also have their individual fanbases. More often than not, fans from fandom communities are willing to shell out funds just to help their idols, but currently, the only few ways to help their favorite idol groups are to pay for joining their events, to stream their content, and to buy their official merchandise.

We want to help Idol Groups reach another level of fan involvement to stardom!

What it does

The platform allows Idol Groups to have more resources and revenue streams:

  • Idol NFT Marketplace: Creating and selling Official Idol NFTs (image, audio, video clips, music)
  • Crowdfunding projects and events
  • Fan Service requests
  • Selling official merchandise
  • Secure sales for event tickets

It also increases Fan Involvement:

  • Social Token: Buying an Idol Group's social token will give them access to exclusive content. Social Tokens will increase in value as their supported idols become more popular.
  • Buying, selling, and trading of Official Idol NFTs
  • They have the power to vote and decide their idol's project concept/theme, fan-meet events, meet-up locations, concerts
  • Crowdfunding: Investing to their idols through Project Tickets. Project Tickets are under Smart Contracts. Investors will have a share of the revenue that resulted from successful crowdfunded projects (M/V, Concerts, Events).
  • Requesting fan service content
  • Buying official merchandise
  • Access to the fandom community forum

How we built it

We mainly used ReactJS to build the web application. We initially used Xircus SDKs and its general NFT marketplace, but for the sake of showing output in the 2-day Hackathon, we temporarily substituted it with Thirdweb.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to use Xircus' low-code support. We also had a problem looking for Xircus Tools that would help build our product until we found out about its Xircus Web3 Protocol on gitbook.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We successfully conceptualized what platform we would want to create.
  • We've created a working prototype of our Web App platform.

What we learned

It really takes more than one person to make an idea alive!

What's next for FanHUB

DEVELOPMENT

  • Creating the web application with the right tools fit for the project. Gathering requirements, designing the user interface, writing code, testing the app, and fixing any bugs found during the testing process.

DEPLOYMENT

  • Making the app accessible to users by deploying it with Xircus or to a web server or hosting platform.

MAINTENANCE

  • Maintaining the product to ensure that it continues to work as expected.
