Did you know research suggested that credential-sharing cost the video-streaming service industry $500 million in direct revenues globally in 2015. Furthermore, a study of 5,721 Netflix users, aged 16 to 64, in the U.S. and U.K. revealed that 65% percent of subscribers do not claim to be sole users of their account.
We felt there was an opportunity here but 1. subscription plans are too expensive, 2. sharing single plans simulate a bad user experience, and 3. people cannot always find others to share a family plan with.
Our solution was to build an e-commerce site that allow friends and/or strangers to subscribe to family plans to share costs and keep their user-experience independence.
With our platform, you either create a plan or join a plan. Joining a plan lets you browse our discovery feed for the plan that fits your needs and filter between services and contracts that make sense for you. Creating a plan lets you customize a plan based on your requirements (choosing between phone, entertainment, and/or music services) and share your plan with friends and/or post to our discovery feed.
We feel if people are comfortable with sharing a ride with strangers, people should be comfortable with sharing a plan too.
