Inspiration

As a busy single dad, I was tired of the daily stress and nagging around chores, goals, and routines. I wanted a way for my kids to stay on track and feel motivated — without constant reminders and frustration for everyone. I knew countless families faced the same struggles.

What it does

FamQuest turns family management into a game kids want to play.

Parents assign chores and daily goals.

Kids earn points, streaks, and fun rewards.

Photo proof ensures tasks really get done.

Kids check in with mood emojis so parents can spot emotional issues early.

Everything is wrapped in a beautiful, minimalist black-and-white app with playful color accents and animations.

It’s about turning chaos into connection — and making family life more fun.

How we built it

I’m not a developer, so I used ChatGPT to brainstorm features, write prompts, and refine my pitch. Then I turned to Bolt, which let me rapidly build screens and a working prototype — all without writing code.

Together, ChatGPT and Bolt became my virtual cofounders!

Challenges we ran into

I have zero coding experience.

I’m juggling life as a single parent.

I only had tiny pockets of time to work on this.

I honestly didn’t know if I’d be able to create something usable. But Bolt made it possible!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m incredibly proud of how FamQuest turned out — clean, modern, and genuinely engaging. The best part? My kids thought it was super cool! Seeing their faces light up and hearing, “Wow, Dad, this is awesome!” was worth everything.

What we learned

This project showed me just how powerful AI and no-code tools like Bolt really are. I went from idea to a functioning app without being a developer — something I never thought I could do.
