I own TradeShowQR, a QR mobile app system for sharing information to generate leads at trade shows. When I saw the contest, I said to myself, "Self, wouldn't that be cool if you could scan a QR code and find out if you were related to someone?" So that's what I did. As I began thinking of the various applications for this, it expanded from a simple scan to find out, "Are you my mother?", to:

Use case 1: T-shirt that says, "How are you related to General Washington. Scan to find out." Other famous persons also.

If I win and get some funding, I will build the following: Use case 2: C

Use case 2a: T-shirt with a QR code that says: "Are we related to each other?" Scan to find out.

Use case 1: Phone to phone scanning at genealogy conferences. How are we related (phase 2, just scan registration badges). Use case 3: Pass along cards. Are you related to these famous people? Scan to find out.

Use case 4: Make a deal with history book publishers to put are you related QR codes in history and literature books. Phase 2: If you are not related to "Columbus" then show who they are related to that lived during his time period. Makes history come alive as it is no longer about then and there but "my people."
