Inspiration
Long waiting lines at doctors' offices often hinder and leave patients miserable for hours before they get treatment
What it does
The user inputs their symptoms and then our program returns a list of possible diseases and then offers a solution
How we built it
We first had to filter out unimportant words from the input and then take the root word of each symptom which we compared with a list of symptoms we had created.
Challenges we ran into
We attempted to display our code on a website but we were unable to do so because neither of us knew HTML/CSS. We also wanted to incorporate machine learning so that the program could learn from the users and add more symptoms and diseases to its database.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we at least managed to make the portion of the code we wrote work because it is our first hackathon and we were struggling with trying to code a lot of the functions.
What we learned
We learned that we need to learn more about web development so that next time we are more prepared to make websites from our programs
What's next for Family Doctor
Hopefully, we will find a way to incorporate AI into it so that it can maintain conversations with users and offer more than one solution for any problems someone may have.
