🏡 Familmo – All-in-One Family Organizer
💡 Inspiration
The idea for Familmo came from my own day-to-day struggles. Every family member was contacting me through different apps, unaware of what chores were done, or forgetting about upcoming birthdays and family plans. It felt chaotic. I thought: "What if we had a single app that could bring our family together digitally, just like we are in real life?" That’s how Familmo was born a tool to simplify family communication and organization.
🚀 What it does
Familmo is an all-in-one family communication app designed to keep your family connected and organized.
Key features include:
- 🗓️ Shared family calendar
- ✅ Task and chore management
- 💬 Private and group chats
- 🎉 Event reminders
- 🏠 Simple, clean interface built for all ages
Everything your family needs, all in one place.
🔧 How we built it
I built 99% of Familmo using Bolt, including both the app and the landing page. For backend services and authentication, I integrated Supabase directly into the Bolt environment.
The domain was claimed via Entri and IONOS, and I used Netlify for hosting the website and Expo for mobile deployment.
⚔️ Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was the lack of technical experience I wasn’t sure I could even pull this off. But using Bolt helped me break down barriers and build fast. I had to restart the project twice, but each time I learned something new.
Debugging mobile builds, managing Supabase integration, and handling deployment pipelines were all new to me, but I tackled them one by one.
🏆 Accomplishments we're proud of
- I built a fully functional mobile app from scratch
- I overcame self-doubt and pushed through technical challenges
- I created something that solves a real problem for real people
- I didn't give up, even after two full restarts
📚 What we learned
This hackathon taught me that persistence beats perfection. Even if you start out not knowing everything, learning by doing is powerful. With the right tools and mindset, you can build something meaningful.
🌱 What's next for Familmo
Familmo is just getting started. I plan to:
- Add more simple chat functions
- Add photo albums
- Improve UI/UX for older users
- Publish the app on Google Play and the App Store
- Continue gathering feedback from testers and improve it weekly
