Inspiration
We were inspired by an alternative interpretation of the theme "Summit" and the beautiful yet ultimately futile human struggle against time. To summit something means to reach its peak, but time is the one mountain no human can conquer. We spend our lives trying to reach our peaks; climbing our ambitions, our dreams, and our wishes stacked on top of each other, but the summit only grows higher as the sands of time pour onto our lives. Ultimately, our project represents humanity's never-ending desire to reach the ever-changing summit of our lives.
What it does
Our project is simply a creative artwork that represents our interpretation of the summit. It serves as a symbol of human determination, spirit, and its climb to reach the peak.
How we built it
We built our project entirely on SolidWorks and rendered it on SolidWorks Visualize.
Challenges we ran into
Modeling the sand mountain and the human to look as realistic as possible proved to be extremely difficult. SolidWorks is not quite built for organic, natural material and construction, so we had lots of roadblocks along the way.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're very proud of our theme and the idea for our design rendering and how well our CAD turned out.
What we learned
We learned new methods and strategies for CAD modeling, especially regarding natural-looking terrain and human anatomy.
What's next for Falling Up
Hanging up a picture of our rendering on our walls.
