Project: Fake Review Detection Model
Problem Statement: The rise of online reviews has become an essential part of consumers' decision-making process. However, with the increasing popularity of online platforms, the prevalence of fake reviews has also grown significantly. Fake reviews can mislead consumers and harm the reputation of businesses. The challenge is to build a robust fake review detection model that can automatically identify fake reviews from genuine ones, enabling users to make informed decisions and maintaining the credibility of review platforms.
Proposed Solution: Our proposed solution is to develop a machine learning-based fake review detection model that can analyse and distinguish between genuine and fake reviews. The model will leverage natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract relevant features from the review text and user metadata.
Dataset Collection: We will gather a diverse dataset consisting of genuine and fake reviews from various online platforms to train and evaluate the model effectively.
Preprocessing: The raw text data will be preprocessed to remove noise, convert text to lowercase, handle misspellings, and perform tokenization.
Feature Engineering: We will extract relevant features from the preprocessed text and user metadata, such as sentiment analysis, TF-IDF vectors, and linguistic patterns, to represent each review.
Model Selection: We will experiment with various machine learning algorithms, such as logistic regression, support vector machines, and neural networks, to determine the best-performing model.
Model Training: The selected model will be trained on the labeled dataset using a supervised learning approach.
By implementing this fake review detection model, we aim to provide users with reliable and trustworthy reviews, fostering transparency in online platforms and safeguarding businesses from malicious practices.
