What it does

How we built itFake products, also known as counterfeit goods, are unauthorized copies of original branded items that imitate their appearance, packaging, and labeling to mislead buyers. Detecting them requires careful attention to details such as unusually low prices, poor-quality packaging with spelling errors, and missing or fake serial numbers or QR codes. It is safer to purchase from trusted platforms like Amazon or Flipkart, where seller ratings and reviews can help verify authenticity. Additionally, comparing the product with the original on the brand’s official website and checking build quality, logo accuracy, and materials can reveal inconsistencies. Avoiding counterfeit products is important because they may be unsafe, low in quality, and potentially harmful, especially in categories like electronics, cosmetics, and medicines.
