Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from our desire to provide a simple and convenient way for people to access weather information and receive clothing suggestions based on their location. We wanted to make it easy for individuals to stay comfortable and prepared for the weather, no matter where they are.
What it does
Our program takes user input of a city, retrieves real-time weather information for that location, including temperature, wind speed, and precipitation data, and then suggests appropriate clothing choices based on the current weather conditions. It empowers users to make informed decisions about what to wear, ensuring they are comfortable and ready for the day.
How we built it
We built this program using a combination of programming languages, APIs, and libraries. We utilized weather APIs to fetch weather data, designed a user-friendly interface, and implemented an algorithm to provide clothing recommendations. The program was developed through teamwork, with each member contributing their expertise to bring the project to life.
Challenges we ran into
During the development process, we faced several challenges, including integrating multiple APIs, handling various data formats, and understanding how different libraries in Python work, like Flask, and Twilio. We weren't able to finish because we were able to take the output from twilio but weren't able to send back input so we attempted to use flask which didn't work that well either.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our idea and providing users a weather sms that is extremely convenient for people to use. Our program offers a practical solution to a common everyday problem and is accessible to anyone with a smartphone or computer. We also take pride in the teamwork and collaboration that led to the completion of this project.
What we learned
We learned Flask, Twilio, and apis as we experimented through many ways to provide the best and simplest output for users.
What's next for fairy princess sugar plum
We hope to be able to finish the project and release it and then take part in other hackathons in the future.
