Inspiration

Our project was inspired by the need to simplify and streamline the job application process while prioritizing security and fairness. Traditional platforms often share sensitive candidate information, risking privacy. We aimed to create a system that protects personal data, ensures transparency, and intelligently matches candidates with businesses for the most suitable opportunities.

What it does

Our project, FairGame, is a decentralized job platform designed to create a secure and transparent connection between candidates and businesses. Using Midnight's zero-knowledge proofs, the platform ensures that candidates can apply for jobs without sharing sensitive personal information, providing unparalleled privacy and fairness.

How we built it

We developed the frontend using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to create a clean and user-friendly interface. The core functionality leverages Midnight APIs to interact with the blockchain, ensuring decentralized and secure operations. By integrating these tools, we aim to build a robust platform that delivers a seamless and transparent experience for both job seekers and businesses.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered several challenges throughout the project. As a relatively new technology, the Midnight platform had limited tutorials and resources, making it difficult to troubleshoot and learn. The documentation was still evolving, requiring us to experiment and adapt. Additionally, we faced issues with the Telnet testing environment, particularly with transferring T-Dust tokens, which added complexity to our development and testing processes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the challenges, we persevered and achieved a significant milestone: we successfully implemented the basic functionality of our platform and showcased it through the website. While it’s not fully operational yet, we’re proud of our progress and determination to bring the vision to life.

What we learned

Through this journey, we gained hands-on experience with the Midnight platform and its integration with blockchain technology. We explored the inner workings of smart contracts and their role in creating trustless systems. This project deepened our understanding of decentralized applications and their potential to revolutionize traditional processes.

What's next for FairGame

Resume Upload: Enable users to upload their resumes directly on the platform. AI-Powered Parsing: Integrate AI to parse uploaded resumes, automatically extracting relevant skills and qualifications to streamline the application process. Enhanced Filtering: Add more advanced filters, such as location, experience level, and salary range, to make searching for jobs easier and more precise. Blockchain-Based Reviews: Implement a review system where businesses and candidates can leave feedback, ensuring transparency and trust in the hiring process. Expanded Blockchain Functionality: Explore further uses of blockchain technology to add features like secure payments, milestone tracking, and verified credentials.
