Fair Chance Housing

When we heard of the project by Bayan Labs, at first we realized their was a visible need. His company Bayan Labs and more specially the PERSERVRE Project provides job placement and certification through coding but not housing. As such we were tasked with connecting FIP's to housing through our website. It

So once you go to our website, you will be prompted to answer the question of whether you are looking to buy/rent a home or looking to rent out/sell a home. Once clicking on a choice, the user will be asked to login or create an account. This leads to the demographics portion where the user will then have to enter in their information and housing preferences. Additionally, users have the option to enter in a referral during this portion. Referrals can potentially come from Bayan Lab’s already existing work program through a work boss or program manager. Finally, if a FIP’s information and preferences matches what a renter is looking for, then they will be matched to a renter! This allows for direct conversation between renters and potential rentees. These interactions allow for renters to see FIPs in a more humanizing perspective than from the societal norm. Furthermore, we are implementing a more social media type of aspect where people can post images or text that others can interact with in the usual form of likes and comments. This aspect helps create more of a community where people can connect with each other over common interests and goals.
