Inspiration: Our inspiration stems from the glaring disparity in access to financial advisory / education services among the 91% population (more than a billion people) of India who are non-English speakers. Only 3% of Indian households are invested in the stock market which may be due to the lack of knowledge and trust in such modern investment instruments. It is also seen that there are no native language applications which can be used to understand the financial markets and make prudent investment. Witnessing the vast untapped potential and the pressing need for vernacular financial literacy, we embarked on a mission to democratize financial education through fAInansa. The app addresses UN SDG Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries.

What fAInansa Does: fAInansa serves as a beacon of financial empowerment, providing personalized, multilingual AI-driven educational and advisory services tailored to the unique needs and preferences of non-English speaking individuals. By leveraging advanced algorithms and modern portfolio theory, fAInansa offers comprehensive investment guidance, bridging the gap in vernacular financial literacy. Use Case: Imagine a rural youth in India conversing with a lucky avatar on fAInansa, designed to resemble his grandmother. The avatar speaks the youth's native language, fostering a deep sense of trust and familiarity. With guidance from the avatar, the youth manages his finances by searching the stock markets and financial instruments and making prudent investments based on the personalized advice provided by fAInansa. The combination of the avatar's likeness and local language enhances the trust factor, empowering the youth to navigate the financial landscape with confidence. Using the native language helps the youth to grasp the intricacies of financial markets. Difficult concepts like Three Inside Up/Down candlestick pattern becomes easy when explained in the native tongue. The query results obtained by the AI can be viewed in the local language in the text box while the stock prices can also be viewed. This can also be shared with friends vial the social media share button in the application.

What We Learned: Throughout our journey, we've learned the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in financial services. We've discovered the transformative potential of AI technology in breaking down language barriers and empowering individuals to navigate the complexities of the modern financial landscape.

How We Built Our Project: We meticulously crafted fAInansa using cutting-edge technologies to ensure seamless user experience and reliable financial advice. Leveraging the Unity framework, ReadyPlayerMe avatar creator, and OpenAI ChatGPT API, we created an intuitive interface with lifelike avatars that foster trust and engagement. Alpha Vantage API brings the latest financial information including stock prices from most of the world markets. Integration with Google STT, Google TTS, and Google Translate enabled seamless multilingual communication, while advanced algorithms powered by modern portfolio theory ensured accurate and tailored investment recommendations. The results from Alpha Vantage search and the AI inference is displayed in the app text box and this can be shared to social media enhancing communication.

Accomplishments We Are Proud Of: We take pride in the impact fAInansa has had in democratizing financial advisory services and promoting financial inclusion. Seeing users from diverse linguistic backgrounds confidently engage with our platform and make informed investment decisions is a testament to the success of our mission.

Challenges We Faced: One of the primary challenges we encountered was the complexity of integrating multilingual capabilities into our AI platform while ensuring accuracy and natural language processing. Additionally, navigating regulatory frameworks and market dynamics posed significant hurdles, requiring careful navigation and strategic partnerships.

What's Next for fAInansa: Looking ahead, we envision further enhancements to fAInansa's capabilities. Integration of on-device AI for enhanced privacy and security, along with direct purchase options for financial instruments, will provide users with greater convenience and peace of mind. Our goal is to continue innovating and expanding fAInansa's reach, driving financial empowerment and inclusion for all non-English speakers in underserved markets.
