Inspiration

One of the concerns is the negative impact of rumors, misinformation about health that, in the worst situation, cause avoidable deaths. We would like to promote a solution for that.

What it does

The vaccine is that citizens could share more scientific evidence than rumors, and one crucial step is to share a common arena for overcoming false information. Citizens play a vital role in being promoters of science versus misinformation that overcomes this infodemia. For this reason we have built a prototype of Dialogic Fact Science platform for engaging citizens to interchange and spread scientific evidence through social media. The platform will be our common arena, our european meeting point for overcoming misinformation.

How we built it

We begin to work on Friday, sharing ideas and designing together how this platform will run and how citizens could be involved in that solution. We have developed the prototype of the platform during the weekend and to begin the first steps to develop it beyond the hackaton.

Challenges we ran into

Mitigating fake news spreading. The challenge is to overcome the negative impact of misinformation in people's health and to build a European citizens' network that together can share more evidence that improves people's lives around Europe and beyond

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to be involved in this European hackathon and the teamwork done. This achievement has been possible because the team members have been focused on searching for a real solution for the challenge addressed.

What we learned

We learned so much. But the big lesson is how amazing to work together for developing ideas that could be a real solution for all.

What's next for FactScience. Science vs Misinformation

To involve partners to work together in this dream that will become a reality soon.
