The Story Behind factlens.ai
In today’s fast-paced digital world, misinformation spreads faster than ever — from viral social media posts to questionable news articles, it’s harder than ever to separate fact from fiction. As a solo developer passionate about truth and technology, I started building factlens.ai, an AI-powered fact verification platform designed to empower everyday users with instant, reliable insights.
factlens.ai uses AI to analyze text, images, videos, and URLs in real-time, offering a truth score, detailed analysis, and trusted source citations to help users understand why something is credible or misleading.
That said, as a one-person team with limited time, I wasn’t able to fully integrate real-world APIs or implement all the planned features yet. This submission represents an early alpha version of the project, capturing the core concept and foundation while I continue to work hard on expanding its capabilities.
Building factlens.ai has been a challenging but rewarding journey. With the help of AI tools (shoutout to ChatGPT, my virtual teammate!), I’ve crafted a user-friendly interface and laid the groundwork for a platform that can make a real difference in fighting misinformation. It is my first complete project. It taught me more than my college ever could, most importantly the hunger to complete it.
I’m excited to keep improving factlens.ai, adding more data sources, better AI models, and richer features — all with the goal of empowering people to quickly verify content and make informed decisions online.
Thank you for checking out my project and supporting this ongoing effort to promote truth and transparency on the web.
