Inspiration
We wanted to make our project in the entertainment track to make something that's informative, easy to use, and fun to play. Since nobody is really taught how to identify misleading information on the internet, we decided to make a game centered around that.
What it does
Fact or Fallacy presents users with a section of an article that is a fact or fallacy. Users have to select the correct option to progress further in the game. If they get the question wrong, feedback will be given to help the user understand why the information is misleading or a fact.
How we built it
We used Procreate to create most of the visuals used in our design. Figma was used for combining all the visuals into a cohesive final design.
Challenges we ran into
Not all members were familiar with using Figma, so it was definitely a learning process of getting familiar with the UI to understand how we wanted to utilize the different features to create our final design.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a unique project using tools we were initially unfamiliar with. By working together, our different backgrounds and majors shined through in the final design of our project.
What we learned
We learned how to properly utilize Figma for creating UI designs with their templates, tools, and many other features that made it very convenient for this hackathon.
What's next for Fact or Fallacy?
Fact or Fallacy will eventually create an extremely large database of articles for the fact and fallacy category that will continue to improve. It will also eventually reach different platforms for mobile users to make it more convenient for people to utilize.
