Inspiration
During this age of information we are more prone to be persuaded by public speculation and fake news than by facts from viable resources, with so many information in our hand people constantly struggle to identify reliable resources from unreliable ones, so we decided to create this mobile application to help people easily with the sound of their voice acquire information from credible resources, based on facts and research.
What it does
This application takes speech input and describes through voice: the resource, what it has to say about the subject in hand, and the rating regarding credibility of the text.
How we built it
We built it using Fact Check Tools API, react-native-speech, react-native, redux, expo and thesaurus package module.
Challenges we ran into
We had difficulty running the Fact Check Tools API through Postman and expo technical difficulties.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the idea we put together, despite the time we had, we were really ambitious about creating something valuable to the people regarding data about information around random topics that can easily pass by truth.
What we learned
We learned more about Authentication Access Tokens and API keys for API access.
What's next for Fact Checker AI
We're going to work on making the application more maintainable, so in the future we can implement more useful features.
