Inspiration
In Korea, there is a culture called Rolling Paper. This is a culture where my friends write short letters to me one by one on a large piece of paper. It is a culture where I can read large piece of paper filled with letters from my friends and find out what my friends have in mind that I didn't know until now. I was inspired by this culture called "Rolling Paper" and came up with this idea.
What it does
FacePhrase is a unique service that allows users to understand 'how others see their face'. By asking friends to provide short descriptions of the user's face shape, eyes, nose, and mouth, our advanced GenAI then draws a portrait based on these descriptions. The result is a unique, AI-generated artwork that represents 'the face that others see'.
How we built it
I have built FacePhrase on the robust AWS PartyRock platform. This platform allows me to leverage the power of GenAI in creating unique, personalized portraits from text descriptions. I have also incorporated user-friendly interfaces for easy communication between the user and their friends.
Challenges we ran into
Writing the prompts was probably the hardest part. I spent the most time writing prompts to close the gap between the output I envisioned for the service and the output I actually received.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As I wrote above, I struggled with the prompts, but I'm most proud of the fact that I made it through. It's satisfying to be able to take an idea that was only in my head and turn it into a service so quickly and easily with AWS PartyRock.
What we learned
Developing this service taught me to think like the people who use the service, not like the people who create it, which helped me to make it more user-friendly.
What's next for me
I want to develop and deploy services that are fun to use with friends, like FacePhrase, and this service will be a nice starting point for that goal.
