What it does
Create amazing timelapse video focusing on faces.
How we built it
Through Xcode, SwiftUI, CoreImage, AVFoundation & Vision. Going as native as possible to deliver best experience even without internet connection.
Challenges we ran into
- Getting a consistent face alignment without users needed to do much
- Adjusting video export settings to generate the video as quickly as possible
- Deciding what monetization model to use and pricing
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The app is super simple to use, the result videos are amazing. I use it often myself to create videos of my kid to share with family & friends.
What we learned
Building the app is only half the story, actually shipping and promoting is another mountain to climb.
What's next for FaceLapse: Timelapse Video
More customization for the result video and features depending on user feedback.
