Inspiration

What inspired me to create this project is that there are a lot of businesses and individuals offering services online via Facebook which can be automated so that they are able to have time to focus on other aspects of their business or service. Take for example a company offering a utility service with billing. They can utilize this platform to allow for customers to perform certain actions such as checking their balance, get information such as downtime etc. without the need of a representative to handle each message.

What it does

This Facebook Messenger Chat Bot allows for you to automatically and programmatically interact with persons who are messaging your page. It can be used to automate FAQs as well as provide answers to dynamic questions.

How I built it

This project was built by utilizing a PHP backend which was hosted on a shared server and then linked to a Facebook Page. This project involved setting up a web hook from the Facebook Page to an external backend which handled the message responses.

Challenges I ran into

The major challenge I ran into during this project was time was limited to build and develop this platform a little more detailed as I would have envisaged.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud to actually build a working prototype of a dynamic Facebook Messenger Chat Bot. This will allow me to create automated processes for some of the services I offer.

What I learned

During this project, I have learnt to create a fully functioning Facebook Messenger Chat Bot which will allow me to automate first level interaction with persons online.
