Inspiration

As with the growth of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning in the computing industry, we are experiencing and exploring the future one could have imagined. As a matter of fact, I found Open Computer Vision as my fascination work; It's a growing industry and soon enough it will be widely used across a variety of applications.

What it does

Face Attendance project uses a webcam to detect faces and record the attendance live in an excel sheet.

How we built it

My model is built in python code with different dependencies like c compiler and OpenCV etc. It identifies the person using webcam footage and marks the attendance live with an accurate date and time in an excel sheet.

Challenges we ran into

Well, the overall project was indeed challenging for me, because it was the first time I was working on a project which required all my knowledge on Open Computer Vision, all the dependencies and extensions being used. Sometimes I got stuck for hours finding my run-down errors, but to be honest, it was intimidating. I enjoyed building it.

What we learned

While working on this project I learned a lot about facial recognition, different image recognition models and went through some of the exciting dependencies that make coding much fun and easier.

What's next for Face Attendance

I am thinking about upgrading this program run on any entry instead of using a set of data.
