Inspiration
As an F1 fan and developer, I wanted to build a simple place where fans could access the most important Formula 1 information without having to switch between multiple apps and websites. This idea led to F1-Hub — an app designed to make following the F1 season easier and more convenient.
What it does
F1-Hub brings essential Formula 1 information together in one app. Users can follow race schedules, results, driver and team standings, and other important F1 updates. The goal is to provide a clean and easy-to-use experience for both casual viewers and dedicated F1 fans.
How we built it
F1-Hub was developed as a mobile application using Flutter. The app was designed with a focus on a clean interface, smooth navigation, and presenting F1 information in an organized way. We worked on different screens and features iteratively, testing the app throughout development and improving the experience based on what we learned.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was organizing a large amount of Formula 1 information into an interface that remained simple and easy to navigate. We also had to think carefully about handling changing race data, creating reusable UI components, managing different screen states, and preparing the application for release on Google Play.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of turning an idea into a complete, publicly available mobile application. Building F1-Hub from the initial concept through development, testing, and publishing gave us practical experience in creating and maintaining a real-world app.
What we learned
This project helped us improve our Flutter development skills and taught us how to structure a larger mobile application. We also learned about API/data handling, UI/UX decisions, debugging, testing, app deployment, and the process of publishing and updating an application on Google Play.
What's next for F1-Hub
We want to continue improving F1-Hub by adding more useful features, improving the overall user experience, and making the app an even better companion for following the Formula 1 season. Future improvements will be driven by user feedback and ideas that make the app more useful for F1 fans.
