Inspiration
Our game draws inspiration from games like limbo , backrooms , amnesia
What it does
It is a psychological horror game which showcases the entrapment of a person inside their own mind , where they try to find a friend but encounter the fiend instead.
How we built it
We used the unity engine and made the game in the 3D environment with Universal render pipeline . We used some assets from asset strore and animations from mixamo . Credits to all the assets are given at the end of the game
Challenges we ran into
It was tough to implement the procedural generation into the game and at last making save system to store the procedurally generated map alongwith the position of batteries and notes was very challenging. We wanted to give each user a unique experience so procedural generation was the backbone of the game and there was no way we could progress any further without implementing it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we are able to give a good level game with very interesting features considering that we are just beginners in this field . we have learnt a lot in this hackathon.
What we learned
Procedural generation Save System Better Game Design Animation
What's next for F(r)IEND
We are thinking to incorporate more filters and enemies and make it a bit more harder by placing a unique enemy that can be visible under each filter . We are thinking to make the story better and dont keep the game so fast forward.
