Inspiration

When we spoke to people living with dementia, we discovered a number of issues related to fear and anxiety that occur through a persons lifetime, and also a caregivers lifetime. There is often a great deal of denial when people are first diagnosed with dementia, and often times they do not want others to know, yet at the same time, they can feel isolated. Others have come to terms with living with dementia but still go through periods of anxiety. They often get smothered by family members and want to interact with people they can relate to. They also want to vent. Finally, caregivers persevere through great struggles to help. Often times, their stories are just as powerful.

What it does

F*CK DEMENTIA is a content site that allows people living with dementia and those that care for them a place to vent, and relate to other venters. It's a confessional, for people to anonymously share their struggles. Finally, it is an awareness builder that educates visitors on what people impacted by dementia go through, and offers a way to donate to the Alzheimers Society of Canada.
