Inspiration:

We are young, most of you are as well. And no one of us gives a f*uck about all the paperwork needed for retirement. Once there it is often already too late and we're missing crucial papers we were supposed to keep. We can't prove anymore how long we worked which may be crucial for obtaining an early pension and more. But hey, the government still has everything in the archives... maybe.

This is just one example.

There are many more, as you can imagine.

It is already hard enough to keep track. We want to make handling those papers easier. And to make sure you do not forget anything.

What it does:

Our app provides an overview of all the papers needed in german bureaucracy. We remind you of missing papers, keep track of crucial papers and provide information on how to get important papers based on your current living situation. This will not only save your free time, but also avoids a lot of the associated frustration.

Challenges we ran into:

The main goal of our app is to ease the process of acquiring, archiving and tracking of all the important papers someone has to deal with in germany. To build this app, we had (and still have) to work through all those processes ourselves and gather and compose as much information as possible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Our app solves a problem we had ourselves. We also know, that pretty much everyone else - especially our peers - have this problem as well. This means, that our work is useful for nearly all 80 million german citizens.

What's next for F*cking Papers:

So far our app is not complete and it won't be for a while. There are many more processes and papers to check and implement. In the future we want to release our app for different countries, adjusted for local processes. To make our app useable for as many citizens as possible, we want to offer multiple languages and presets, so it could even be useful for refugees or other newcomers to Germany.
