Inspiration

Trustless communication and data sharing technologies and their cryptographic base such as the SHA-256 hash function a.k.a blockchains.

What it does

It is a digital monetary platform that uses a digital coin pegged to the Saudi Riyal that allows the Hajj participant to be able to easily and effortlessly buy from vendors, using a simple application the Hajj will order what he needs from a nearby store and arrive shortly to pick it up. In the same time, he/she is being provided with helpful insights and reviews about the products available to him/her throughout Hajj.

Our system is robust and decentralized by design, there is no central server to crash when more than a million participants in Hajj start using the platform. The platform is also tamper-proof due to the nature of the blockchain that operates it, once a transaction is recorded it is extremely hard to change, even if the admin credentials are compromised.

How we built it

We're developing our application over the ethereum blockchain using the solidity programming language. We're using javascript for the front-end alongside with the react framework. we're using the metamask wallet and web3 to connect with the ethereum blockchain and tochi to access wallets on mobile.

Challenges

Bureaucratic red-tape and restrictive monetary regulations by regulatory governmental bodies. Resistance by sellers to employing the platform.

What's next for F-011-Hajj Wallet

Integration with local Saudi Banks and the Saudi Government, Integration with international mobile service providers and monetary institutions in the countries that produce the largest number of Hajj participants.
