Inspiration

Many households in Vietnam normalize submerging exotic animals in wine, believing that the consumption of this alcohol would have a great health benefit. More alarmingly, young generations in these families lack the concern for this problem, which could lead to a lifetime of illegal wildlife trafficking. Therefore, we, Zoo Zú, are determined to tackle this problem by creating a digital learning platform in the form of a web app to help educate these young generations.

What it does

EZOOCATION is a digital learning platform consisting of online courses about wildlife, a forum as a medium for the community to share and communicate, and a library of verified articles about wildlife.

How we built it

With the combination of HTML, Django and REACT, and designing using Figma, we intended to create a web app that is user-friendly, and attractive for a wide range of audiences.

Challenges we ran into

With the lack of technical skills, we were hardly able to create a fully functional web app. During the research phase, we spent a huge amount of time accumulating authentic information to create our learning course.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our user interface because it's easy to use, and appealing.

What we learned

ZooHackathon was an amazing opportunity for us to learn new technologies that otherwise we will never notice. Moreover, ZooHackathon also provided us with a bundle of knowledge about wildlife, and wildlife organizations which inspired us to continue the development of our web app after ZooHackathon.

What's next for EZOOCATION

Even better user interface and platform. More online learning courses. Engage in a wider target audience. Develop a fully functional web app and more features. Connect with NGOs, NPOs.
