Inspiration

we hate uploading our final exams/quizzes/examlets manually to our Google Calendar so we made a chrome extension to do it for us.

What it does

Uploads event information straight to your Google calendar

How we built it

The frontend was made using Vite, React, and Tailwind. The backend was built with Gumloop and som Python. We used services like Firebase Storage to store our images and ngrok as an API gateway.

Challenges we ran into

Chrome extensions are a pain in the ass. Gumloop was also kinda annoying since it technically didn't let us "deploy" our workflow. We had to come up with several work around which still work but aren't what we hoped.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Using Gumloop and getting the workflow running from a chrome extension end-to-end.

How to use Gumloop and integrating Firebase storage with out chrome extension.

What's next for ezCal

Integrate with Google Calendar fully instead of sending download links to the user's email. Additional features such as using days instead of full dates and allowing events to repeat would be great.
