Inspiration

We are a group of 4 girls in electrical engineering that lead extremely busy lives. We are constantly using public transit and noticed that it can often be a confusing mess. We also noticed that taking a nap on public transport was so risky because of the inaccuracy of trying to use a time-based phone alarm. So we decided to make Ez Tranz.

What it does

Ez Tranz is a location-based alarm that hopes to make the lives of commuters easier. It can be set to notify you a certain distance away from your location and will also notify you when you have reached your stop.

How we built it

We built it using TKinter which is the inbuilt python GUI framework.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we ran into was determining what platform we should use to develop our application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of creating a product that works as it required a lot of teamwork to complete.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how coding in a team works and what goes into finishing a non-academic project from start to finish.

What's next for Ez Tranz

The next step is creating this on a mobile platform as currently it is only supported on desktop. Then we hope to expand the database of bus routes and stops within the scope of the app.
