Inspiration
For new college students, the term “Freshman 15” is often used to describe the weight gained by students during their first year of college. Although there are several factors that contribute to this, the most important one is arguably the lack of exercise. Therefore, in our project, we set out to solve the challenges that beginners face through providing a easy yet effective tool for students to get in their daily workouts.
What It Does
EZ Fitness is a convenient, accessible website with a simple UI designed to
- Provide users with a tailored workout based on time and equipment constraints
- Allow students to specialize their workouts and be more efficient with their time
- Plan workouts over multiple days by selecting different muscle groups to train each day
How We Built It
We built our website on GitHub Pages using HTML, CSS Bootstrap, and Javascript.
Challenges
Some challenges we ran into include linking up different pages to create a comprehensive website, designing the pop up screen for each workout, and adapting plans to fit time constraints
Accomplishments
We are proud of our website's simple user interface and its clean and effective transitions that provide the user with a tailored workout based on their preferences. We believe our website can be used to improve the fitness and lives of college students.
What We Learned
We learned many new skills in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. We also improved our collaboration skills and learned how to quickly develop a project under the time constraints.
What's next for EZ Fitness
In the future, we hope to implement a Workout Buddy system where college students can find workout buddies on their campus who share similar exercise preferences.
