Inspiration
Managing emails can be overwhelming, consuming significant time and energy, especially for professionals who deal with high volumes daily. The lack of tools that combine contextual understanding with personalization inspired me to create Ez-Answer AI, a smart solution to transform email management into an effortless experience.
What it does
Ez-Answer AI is a Chrome extension that crafts intelligent, context-aware email replies in seconds. Using advanced natural language processing, it analyzes the tone and intent of incoming emails to generate responses that align with the user's communication style, saving time while maintaining professionalism and authenticity.
How we built it
Ez-Answer AI was built using Gemini API, which includes a large language model for natural language processing and understanding. I integrated these capabilities into a Chrome extension using Typescript to make API calls to Gemini API.
Challenges we ran into
The primary challenge was achieving a balance between contextual accuracy and reply personalization. Fine-tuning the AI to maintain user tone while addressing diverse email scenarios required extensive testing and iteration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully creating a tool that can significantly reduce the time spent on email replies while delivering meaningful and accurate outputs is a major milestone. I’m also proud of integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities into a user-friendly Chrome extension.
What we learned
Through this project, I learned the nuances of fine-tuning language models for real-world applications. I also gained valuable insights into building Chrome extensions and integrating AI in ways that enhance productivity without sacrificing user trust. I learnt a web programming as well as It was my first time building one. I also acknowledge that the project could have a lot more features. As I said it was my first typescript project, I am originally an embedded software developer.
What's next for Ez-Answer AI
I plan to enhance Ez-Answer AI with advanced features such deeper personalization options, and easier in-line suggestions, instead of copy-pasting into the extension. Additionally, I aim to improve response suggestions by incorporating sentiment analysis and expanding its capabilities to handle more complex communication scenarios.
