Inspiration Using barcode scanners in most groceries if not all, has been a challenge for people who are blind or visually impaired. It’s either they’re having trouble flipping the product to find the barcode or knowing if they have gotten all they needed when they’re paying in the counter.
Based on World Health Organization research, Globally, at least 2.2 billion people have a near or distance vision impairment. And people 50 years and older are 82% of all blind. The best solution we can think of to help them with this is the eyesense barcode scanner which will help them see the items through they eyesense scanner.
What it does
The Eyesense Scanner uses AI or enhanced image capture technology to easily recognize the barcode and price tag independently. It also has a VoiceAssist accessibility support so they can hear what item has been scanned and how much it costs.

What's next for Eyesense Barcode Scanner - A barcode scanner usually consists of three different parts including the illumination system, the sensor, and the decoder. In general, a barcode scanner “scans” the black and white elements of a barcode by illuminating the code with a red light, which is then converted into matching text. More specifically, the sensor in the barcode scanner detects the reflected light from the illumination system (the red light) and generates an analog signal that is sent to the decoder. The decoder interprets that signal, validates the barcode using the check digit, and converts it into text.
This Eyesense scanner is made for the blind and visually impaired users to read any text format, currency or product details from a barcode independently, it has full VoiceOver accessibility support with inbuilt speaker and microphone.
