The problem our project solves

An essential drawback of online education is lack of face-to-face interaction. It leads to several problems, one of them is lack of insights into how students absorbed learning materials. As a result, a teacher in online mode has no data to optimize and personalize training materials

The solution we bring to the table

We built a solution that enables the teacher to literally see the training materials through the student's eye

eyepass turns the regular webcam of a student laptop/PC into an eye-tracker and reveals how students work with materials:

  • reading, skimming, skipping areas, focus and time of attention, the path of studying, blind zones and many other metrics of engagement
  • what was hard, what was easy, how they were involved, etc

As a result, eyepass provides:

  • the faculty with multifactor validation that students indeed passed online training and testing and most importantly,
  • the teacher with objective e-learning experience data to personalize and optimize the training materials

What we have done during the weekend

We conducted an ad-hoc survey among 60 participants (teachers from various segments, k12, academic, corporate) of the hackathon and conducted deep interviews with some of them https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe_1s4kbqy9Inw9NtaS-nvwX-0IitaeSQ5ZG4zE50ygpdXtcA/viewform

We have found out that we are really focused on the right problems and the participants are interested to use eyepass.tech 25 recipients left their contacts for beta-testing and we are going after hackathon to provide them such testing

Full data of survey you can find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hrsLezXzcv39unEkquxi_01HtYzMJSjEsKKWffBtZ4w/edit#gid=810532573

The solution’s impact to the crisis

We already have negotiated and going to provide our solution (eyepass.tech / proctoring) for arranging online proctoring of exams in Ukraine:

  1. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Arrange secured online summer exams for 26 000 students, 76 000 exam hours (including 2,000 hours for graduation exams and 74,000 hours for interim exams).
  2. Ukrainian Ministry of Health Protection. Arrange secured online annual exams for 13 000 specialists
  3. DTEK Academy. Arrange talent assessment among hundreds of employees

The necessities in order to continue the project

Nowadays we are actively working with a wide range of teachers, providing them with the possibility to use the new technology and get benefits instantly on a free of charge basis. It allows us to understand pains, goals, and tasks of a teacher in online mode, and as a result clear understanding the future product

The value of eyepass.tech after the crisis

We are going to provide thousands of teachers (k12 and high education segments) with objective data on how to personalize and optimize education program and materials for millions of students in EU countries
