Inspiration

We found that friends around us have eye disease caused by excessive eye use. We hope that people will be aware of this through the game.

What it does

A filter game that reminds you to care your eyes! We developed a filter game that resembles the occurrence of eye problems, making them to take an initiative to make an appointment.

How I built it

Through the Spark AR game filter, we think brainstormed about how to make users to have a perfect gaming experience, enter Messenger after playing, use Chatbot to locate, recommend nearby eye clinics to make an appointment directly!

We first brainstormed on how to make users a perfect gaming experience with the Spark AR game filter. Then we used this technology to design a chatbot in Messenger. It can not only amuse the users, but also translates the user's location info. into recommendation of eye clinics.

Challenges I ran into

We spent a lot of time thinking about how to make people feel that there is a problem with overusing their eyes through playing our games. And the most difficult thing to do is the cataract eyes. We turned the overall color into black and white, grabbed the dark part of the eye frame, and used Add to superimpose the white effect to produce the effect we want.

We want to inform our users of the location of nearest clinic. But Messenger deprecated the geolocation function on their platform on Aug 15th, 2019. So we designed our own geolocation function for in just 48 hours and integrated Google Maps API for our chatbot.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We completed the total solution from Messenger Chatbot to Spark AR through online collaboration.

What I learned

Game planning, Spark AR Patch, Send Location

What's next for Eye Can See

It's just a prototype now. Next step, we hope to be able to connect the Messenger Chatbot with Spark AR.

We would like to link the Spark AR with Messenger. After the photo is transmitted, we hope to use the cloud to calculate whether your eyes have other diseases and provide more eye solutions.
