Inspiration

Mental health care is important, but it isn't always accessible. My doctors recommended I download Headspace, which inspired me to look into other mental health resources, and how we can make them more known to users who need help.

What it does

Eye Of The Hurricane provides users with mental health resources, like grounding techniques, apps for managing anxiety and depression, and crisis hotlines you can call, chat online, or text. It also features a chatbot the user can vent to, that will recommend resources based on how the user feels, or connect the user with a peer willing to listen to them vent.

How I built it

I built the chatbot using Landbot. For the site I used HTML, CSS, JS, bootstrap, and Firebase. I used Firebase on Google Cloud to host the site.

Challenges I ran into

I had some trouble figuring out how to host the project.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of the research I did to put this project together.

What I learned

I learned how to use Firebase and Google Cloud. I also learned about chatbots.

What's next for Eye Of The Hurricane

I would like to bring on my peers to reach out through the chatbot so people are always available if someone needs to talk.
