Eye Candy
Inspiration
The inspiration behind this filter is avant-garde fashion or wearable art. To use elements that are impossible or next to impossible in the real world. A statement piece that stands out from the natural properties of the world and only after seeing it will you be able to believe in the existence of such design. To make them in a sustainable way with minimal resources.
What it does
The only thing needed for this filter to work is a person under your snapchat lens. Then automatically the filter will track the body of that person and add the whole look on that person. The material of the 3d model also has changeable properties and has original artworks on it as prints.
How we built it
The major tool used was full body mesh, which is an easy way to add 3d models to the person without rigging and an add on script to add those statement accessory at the back of the jacket. The materials were all taken from the asset library or made on lenstudio.
Challenges we ran into
The importing and placement part of 3d models as the full body mesh was a bit challenging, otherwise everything else went pretty smoothly.
What we learned
By exploring and spending so much time while making this filter, one thing is for sure that there is so much more to explore and so many endless possibilities to achieve in Lenstudio and in the virtual world in general.
What's next for EYE CANDY- seeing is believing
There are many things that can be done, like adding 3d carousels where the garments of the look can be changed accordingly or maybe better material shading for a more realistic look, for the future of these kinds of filter. I think filters like this will play a huge part in the future of the fashion and art world.
