Exquisite Corpse is a technique invented by the surrealists and is similar to an old parlour game called Consequences in which players write in turn on a sheet of paper, fold it to conceal part of the writing, and then pass it to the next player for a further contribution. The game's end result is a collaborative (and funny) narrative.
We decided to try to translate this game into a mobile app and to see where this project will take us. We feel like the game has evolved and has turned into a more social and fun interaction because of the strong UX we have developed. Instead of the page-folding technique, we used the nature of the phone to reveal just a part of the content, prompting the players to add to the written narrative.
In the future, we are planning to implement a timer for each user's turn, a text-to-speach element that will read out the complete story, and the option to create stories online with friends who have the app as well.
Our target audience is people who are not afraid to be silly.
