🧠 Inspiration
The idea for Expressify sparked from the frustrating cycle that marketers and solopreneurs face when trying to sync designs with their Shopify stores. Exporting, re-uploading, editing — a tedious process that slows creativity and momentum.
We wanted to streamline the workflow between Adobe Express and Shopify, empowering users to manage their media faster and smarter.
🚀 What it does
Expressify is an Adobe Express addon that bridges the media management gap with Shopify. It enables:
- Direct design-to-Shopify media syncing
- Easy product image replacement and updates
- Upload and update of non-product assets like ads and banners
- Express template file tracking/mapping for future edits
- Bulk media updates across your site
Perfect for solopreneurs, SMBs, designers, and marketers who crave efficiency and impact.
🛠️ How we built it
We combined the power of adobe addon sdk, Blob storage, and a custom server infrastructure. Expressify seamlessly interacts with Shopify’s GraphiQL API, enabling secure and flexible media operations between platforms.
🧗 Challenges we ran into
- Understanding and aligning Shopify’s GraphQL schema
- Passing blob storage to buffer to our server to Shopify database.
- adobe-document-sdk - not able to figure out how to integrate it with addon react template.
🌱 What's next for Expressify
We’re expanding Expressify’s capabilities to include:
- Shopify analytics integration for smarter design decisions
- Video asset support for dynamic media uploads
- Shopify blog and theme asset management
- Broader service integration — think WordPress, Wix, Webflow and beyond
