Inspiration
In an era of hyper-realistic generative AI, the boundary between truth and fabrication is vanishing. We were inspired by the need for a "Digital Source of Truth". A platform where authenticity is not a matter of opinion, but a scientifically verifiable fact anchored to quantum-safe infrastructure.
ExposAI – Project Story Inspiration: My friends made a deepfake of me for my birthday. It was hilarious—until I realized: if they can do this for fun in one afternoon, imagine what bad actors can do.
What starts as a joke video of your friend can become a scam video targeting your mom. The same power that made me laugh could make her cry.
And with AI tools getting better every day? It's only a matter of time.
We built ExposAI so "just a joke" stays just a joke.

What it does ExposAI = Digital birth certificate.
Mint: Every AI-generated image gets stamped on the QDay blockchain at the moment of creation. Immutable. Unfakeable. Like a tattoo but for your JPEGs.
How we built it Frontend: TypeScript + CSS
Blockchain: QDay (Abelian) – EVM-compatible Layer 2
AI: AWS Bedrock with Llama models
Backend: JavaScript + Solidity
Secret ingredient: 10 cans of Monster and 0 hours of sleep
We glued together powerful tools so we didn't have to build from scratch. We're first-years, not wizards.
Challenges we ran into "What's a blockchain?" – Day 1 problem. Solved by watching YouTube at 2x speed and pretending we understood.
"How do we AI?" – Almost tried building our own model. Then we remembered AWS exists and cried with relief.
"Why isn't this compiling?" – The story of our lives for 24 straight hours. Stack Overflow became our homepage.
"Can we mint WHAT on the blockchain?" – First test mint was a photo of our friend sleeping. It's now immortalized forever on QDay testnet. Sorry, Shahman. You're eternal.
"How do we explain this to normal people?" – We built the UI first. Three taps. Green = good. Red = bad. Even our moms get it. (We tested.)
Accomplishments that we're proud of Successfully minted our first image on QDay at 3 AM. We screamed so loud the library kicked us out. Worth it.
Built a working prototype in under 24 hours that actually detects fakes. It's not perfect. It works. We'll take it.
Integrated AWS Bedrock without breaking anything. This is our greatest achievement.
Created a UI so simple that our moms tested it and didn't call us for help. This has never happened before.
You don't need to build everything. AWS and QDay exist so first-years like us can look like pros. Stand on the shoulders of giants (who have better sleep schedules).
Teamwork = survival. Splitting work saved us from murdering each other at 4 AM when nothing compiled.
Sleep is optional. Regret is mandatory. But the rush of seeing it work? Worth every missed hour.
What's next for ExposAI Browser extension – Right-click any image. Instant verify. No more "wait, is this real?" anxiety while scrolling.
Video support – Because deepfakes are learning to talk now. Great. Thanks, progress.
Creator partnerships – Artists can auto-mint their work. No more NFT theft. Sorry, screenshot guys, find a new hobby.
Newsroom pilot – Helping journalists verify before they accidentally start World War III over a fake photo.
Eventually: World domination. Or at least stopping our moms from getting scammed. Either works.
Built with 💙, spite, and questionable amounts of caffeine at HackTheEast 2026
P.S. – Mom, if you're reading this: no, you cannot invest in us yet. Yes, we're very proud of ourselves. No, we still haven't slept.
