Export Management System

Inspiration

My dad is a small exporter in India and exports handloom goods. But every time he gets the order he faces problem for generating and managing invoices since a lot of documents are involved in the process. When I searched for billing software for small exporters I found none. Either there were software for big companies or companies that trade within India. I thought why not solve this problem for my dad and other small exporters by building a export management system for small exporters.

What it does

There are three types of documents involved:

Proforma Invoice
Export Invoice
Packing Slip

The system makes it easy for the exporter to generate these documents. It saves the client details, product details and makes the process smooth for the exporters so that they focus on bringing best deals for themselves and not on how to generate invoice.

How we built it

Initially I had no team, the team building channel helped me connect with my team mates. We discussed the idea and the tech stack to use. We decided to build

REST API for backend
And frontend with React

We divided the work in ourselves and get started. But the problem was only Samir in the team was experienced with these technology and has built projects in the past. So he guided us and to my surprise I was able to build the REST API with his help and he and Vignesh were handling the frontend.
