Inspiration

Heard that Scala was a popular coding language, thought I'd check it out

(Note: This is just a mini challenge submission and not a project unlike my other posts)

What it does

Uses the code from the Scala documentation to print hello world as well as define a function

How we built it

Installed Scala plugin into intellij for the first time and created a project following the instructions here

Challenges we ran into

Deciding which language I wanted to look into cause the list is long but I want to focus on a few and improve on those

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Managed to install Scala successfully!

What we learned

• Scala can be used with Java
• Intellij can be used to code Scala
• Scala is built for dealing with large amounts of data (eg data pipelines, video encoding etc)

What's next for Exploring Scala

I want to try to create a proper Scala project, perhaps following the Scala documentation demo
