In the 21st century with the modern technologies, everything came to our hand through mobile phones. This App will help a user to explore cultural and historic places near them.

Inspiration

I love to explore historic and cultural places based on the location. Whenever I am planning to travel to a location, I will start searching about the places in before hand. As we all know, there were so many results which might be confusing sometimes. That made me to create this app.

What it does

To access this app, user should share their location. Based on a users location, this app will provide cultural and historic places near to them.

How we built it

This project is built with HTML,CSS,JS and I used OpenTripMap API and integrated Google Maps API to show the location.

Challenges we ran into

This is my first hackathon. Integrating with Google Maps and working with API was very challenging I learnt how to work with Google Maps.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of submitting my project for the hackathon for the first time.

What's next for Explore Exciting Places

Currently, the app only works when a user gave permission to access location. I am planning to add a input to get place from the user, allow users to search location based on categories like historic, cultural, nature, churches and more. Will add search functionality for more user friendly. Currently, when the user clicks on the pin it will display only the location, in future planning to a popup box with an image and some data related to the location.
