What it does

Explainify makes understanding information easier, so that students can spend less time confused, and more time learning.

How we built it

Explainify is powered by Chrome, Manifest 3, and the powerful, newest LLaMa model: Llama-4-Maverick-17B-128E-Instruct-FP8. Uses Deepinfra as a cost-effective AI API. This extension uses the latest security recommendations from Google.

Challenges we ran into

It was hard to do graphic design, as neither of us are very skilled in that. Furthermore, Content Security Policy headers (CSP headers) got in the way of the creation of the extension. However, we got past this without compromising the security of the website!

What we learned

Because this was our first hackathon, we learned how difficult it can be and how much of a time crunch it is, and we think this will help us complete our work faster in the future
