Inspiration
We chose this idea because we are interested in projects related to finances. We see the importance of creating tools that help people effectively manage their expenses. Financial literacy is the key to stability, and we wanted to take a step towards popularising it through our project.
What it does
Expense Tracker is a programme that helps users calculate their expenses. It provides a simple and easy-to-use interface to add expenses, analyse them and get reports. The programme allows you to better control your budget.
How we built it
We built the app using JavaScript and React for the frontend, and applied CSS to style the interface. We focused on making the interface intuitive and visually appealing so that users could easily interact with the application.
Challenges we ran into
During the development phase, we faced several challenges, including optimising the handling of large amounts of data and creating a responsive interface for different devices. However, we overcame these challenges by deepening our knowledge of React and CSS.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to create a fully working prototype within the limited time of the hackathon. The programme turned out to be useful, functional and user-friendly.
What we learned
In the course of our work, we learnt how to effectively organise teamwork, distribute tasks and solve technical problems. We also significantly improved our skills in React and CSS.
What's next for Expense Tracker
In the future, we plan to add new features such as the ability to integrate with bank accounts, build spending charts and recommend budget optimisations. We also want to make a mobile app to expand accessibility.
