Inspiration

Small shops — corner stores, cafés, market stalls, boutiques — still run on a paper notebook, a calculator and a cash box, or pay monthly for POS hardware and software built for chains. I already run Invoice Maker, a live invoicing app used by small businesses, and kept hearing the same request: "Can I use this at my counter?"

Shop POS is the answer: turn the phone, tablet or Mac you already own into a complete point of sale — checkout, receipts, stock, cash drawer and reports — that works fully offline and is free to start.

What it does

  • Fast checkout — photo catalogue grid, category chips, search, camera or Bluetooth/USB barcode scanning, hold & resume orders
  • Tender — Cash, Card or QR with a large keypad, Exact cash, currency-aware quick-cash amounts, split tender and automatic change
  • Receipts — print to any Bluetooth thermal printer (58 / 80 / 112 mm) or A4, email or share as PDF
  • Cash Drawer shifts — open with starting cash, close with a count, and a Z-report
  • Inventory — stock per location, low-stock alerts, variants, batch & expiry (FEFO), purchase orders to suppliers
  • Pricing & tax — tax-inclusive or exclusive pricing (VAT, GST, sales tax), price lists, discounts, weighed and open-price items
  • Returns & refunds, sales history, Profit & Loss and Tax reports with PDF / CSV / Excel export
  • 26 languages, iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac

What's next

  • Multi-user role based access, with data processed / stored / retrieved through backend API
  • Multi-register cloud sync, staff accounts and permissions
  • Recipe / ingredient stock for cafés
  • Card-terminal integration and automatic cash-drawer kick
  • Integrate Stripe & other payment gateway, for card payments
  • Additional subscription plans, for cloud user profiles and recurring
  • Web based admin dashboard, for user billing and staff
  • Support windows platform
