Inspiration
I was contacted by Alejandro Trujillo about producing an advertisement for a sustainable zero emission yacht called Alegría. I was interested by the premise and when he told me the boat hadn't been built yet and would require the use of AI to bring it to life, I was keen to help. To bring this boat to life, a 3D model made traditionally was positioned and angled before being screenshot and fed into Weavy where Seedream was used to reimagine the boat in the chosen position in the real world as well as to dress the scene and adjust the lighting. Prior to animating many of the shots were then edited and cleaned up in Photoshop. They were then fed into Midjourney and used to generate a video. Shots without the focal boat were generated directly in Midjourney. Some shots were also generated in Veo. The resulting shots were then edited together traditionally in Adobe Premiere Pro with title graphics done in After Effects. Additionally, in some shots After Effects was used to recolour the sails to the desired colour. A challenge I ran into was maintaining the consistency of the boat which featured the detailed portrait of a scarlet macaw and text as well as generating videos which had accurate sailing physics. However, as a proof of concept I am very happy with the overall result especially the atmospheric lighting of the boat interior shots. This video was made to help generate interest, support and funds for Expedition Zero and the creation of Alegría.
