Inspiration

Our inspiration for making this project was Clue Finders which is an old math game. And the prompt we chose was prompt number 1, which is "how do we increase the learning retention rate for k-12 students to mitigate against A.I.".

What it does

Its a game that has various short mathematical problems that grant rewards to the player for correct solutions.

How we built it

We built it through Adventure Game Studio and used an asset package from itch.io called Generic OLDWEST Pack made by Vaca Roxa.

Challenges we ran into

We had to learn how to use the Adventure Game Studio and how to set it up for collaborative work, which it doesn't natively support. We also ran into numerous problems with our assets using the same indexes as other assets. The biggest challenge was that our third member wasn't available to help the team work on the project, so we were a man down pretty much the entire time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made a functional alpha build for a game in about a day, and we feel our Idea was pretty good at solving the prompt we chose.

What we learned

We learned how to use Adventure Game Studio, that we need to vet our teammates better, and that our goals can be scaled down as needed to fit the project's time frame.

What's next for Exp-Addition to the West

There is potential for the future, and we have a few ideas for further additions to implement into the game.
