Inspiration
The universe contains billions of planets, but discovering which ones could support life is one of humanity's biggest challenges. We were inspired by the idea of making complex astronomical data easier to understand and helping people explore worlds beyond our solar system using AI.
What it does
ExoScout AI is an AI-powered exoplanet exploration platform that helps users discover and analyze planets beyond Earth. It uses real exoplanet data to provide information about distant worlds and evaluates their potential habitability based on scientific parameters.
Users can explore planets, view important scientific details, compare discoveries, and get AI-powered insights about the possibility of life and human exploration.
How we built it
We built ExoScout AI using modern web technologies with a focus on creating an interactive and futuristic space exploration experience.
The platform uses:
- Next.js and TypeScript for a fast and scalable application
- Tailwind CSS for a modern responsive interface
- NASA Exoplanet Archive data for real astronomical information
- AI-based analysis logic to estimate habitability potential
- Interactive visualizations to make space data easier to understand
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was working with large astronomical datasets and transforming complex scientific information into a simple user-friendly experience.
We also focused on designing an interface that feels futuristic while keeping the platform fast, accessible, and easy to navigate.
