Inspiration
We were inspired by the everyday situations where people need a quick excuse for being late to class, missing meetings, or skipping events. Instead of using boring or repetitive excuses, we wanted to create a fun AI-powered tool that generates creative excuses while also evaluating how believable they sound.
What it does
ExcuseMaster AI is a humorous excuse generator that creates context-aware excuses based on the event and tone selected by the user. It also calculates a "believability score" and shows a risk meter to judge how convincing the excuse might be.
How we built it
C++ (initial prototype logic) HTML JavaScript CSS Vercel (deployment) The system will detect the context and generate an excuse along with a believability score.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was designing excuses that felt natural and varied instead of repetitive. We also had to balance humor with believability when calculating the risk score. Ensuring the system responded quickly while generating creative outputs was another challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a working excuse generator that produces context-aware excuses with a believability score. The addition of the risk meter made the project more interactive and entertaining. We are proud of creating a fun yet functional project within a short development time.
What we learned
Through this project we learned how to design user-centered tools, implement scoring systems for generated content, and collaborate using GitHub. We also improved our ability to structure projects and present them clearly.
